Q: Does God Hate You?

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Romans 3:23

Obviously everyone is a sinner since sinning is defined as missing the mark or disobeying. Notice how it's very difficult to go through this life without sinning. It's impossible.

for example:
"If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die."
Deuteronomy 22:22

But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Matthew 5:28

So this means that practically every man has committed adultery. And the penalty for adultery is death.

A number of the commandments in the old testament has death as the payment of sin. The death penalty in these commandments are of a physical nature.

God hates sin because He is holy. He couldn't even look at Jesus when Jesus bore all the sins of the world. That is how holy He is.

For the wages of sin is death...
Romans 6:23

This death, however, speaks of eternity in hell. The spiritual kind. Where we sinners would be in a place of eternal suffering, eternal pain, and eternal separation from God.

... but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord
Romans 6:23 continued

Notice the word used. Gift. When one gives another a gift, it is neither deserved, earned, nor paid for. It can only be accepted or rejected.

Despite our sins, He still chose to save us. Bearing the pain of scourging and crucifixion and dying the most terrible form of death during those days, He still chose to save us.

We, who so willfully disobey Him, He chose to save. He chose to be flogged, beat, spat on, disrespected, rejected, abandoned, and denied... just for us, the same ones who did all those things to Him when he went down to earth.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believesin Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Now, here we see a God who can destroy everything and anything (as evidenced by the flood in Noah's time) choosing to come down to earth and endure pain and disrespect, just so that we unworthy sinners can spend eternity in comfort in His kingdom.

I am not debating here. I just want you to be in that party. :)

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Luke 15:7

A: He LOVES you very much.

Love is Patient and Kind

Tonight, we discussed about the two natures of love which are that it's kind and patient. Both qualities are not so natural in man. That is why we also learned that for love to be sincere, it must be on the foundation of God's love.

We cannot love without hooking it on God. There is always an ulterior motive. Something that drives us. We may not be aware of it but there is. For example, why do you spend so much money in dating someone? It's because you enjoy spending time with the person. It's not because you want to add value to the person or you want to give the person something that would improve him/her in any way.

I think the world would truly be a better place if we just loved each other because God first loved us.

I'm looking forward for the next discussions about love with this season's topic 40 Days of Love.

Recommended LCD

I hate to pinpoint brands but what I'd go for are LGs or CHIMEIs. They're both bang for the buck panels. Choose a unit from these brands that have 2ms response time and high contrast ratios.
